Casting serves as a method for tracing volume and space, creating positive form from negative space. In architectural design, it is common practice to construct molds and engage in the casting process. This brings forth an idea that using an existing space as the mold. Motivated by this proposition, two selected corners in my apartment have been cast. The corner casting pieces turns habitable air space into an impenetrable mass, mummifying the air in the room.

This approach to molding draws inspiration from the technique employed by the Michelangelo, known as "modani." By tracing the sectional outline of the surfaces, the resulting molds assumed the form of negative sectional drawings of the corners. The resulting molds encapsulated the character and geometry of the corners, while simultaneously reflecting the surrounding architectural context. It brought forth a different  perspective on the spatial experience within the apartment, fusing the realms of architecture and sculpture.
